Baptism is a symbol of the remission of sins. That is a fancy way of saying that God cleans up our sinful mess. But beyond that, baptism is about spiritual adoption and personal testimony. We take on His name at baptism, signaling a new identity – and we profess His name at baptism, testifying that He is our only hope for salvation.
